Summary
Public: Mug made of soft paste porcelain decorated with black transfer print of King George II on one side and the Liberty Ship on the reverse. Private: Mug of inverted bell-shape with everted rim, tapered foot and reeded loop handle made of soft paste porcelain. Decorated with transfer-printed overglaze in black on the exterior with a bust of George II, facing left, wearing ceremonial dress, ribbon and star of Order of the Garter, hair in long fashion of time. Liberty shows naked boy holding staff topped with cap of liberty, surrounded by weapons, musical instruments and flag, scroll at front reads liberty. Bottom right, RH Worcester and anchor rebus. Crown above. Man o'war shows large rigged battleship flying flag, flanked by small rowing boats, two sailing ships in distance.
