Summary

Public: Mug, soft paste porcelain, double ribbed high loop handle, transfer-printed overglaze, black, with half-length portrait of King of Prussia, military trophy and winged figures. Private: Mug, inverted bell shape, tapered foot, everted rim, double ribbed high loop handle. Transfer-printed overglaze, black, with scenes relating to Seven Years War (1756-1763). King of Prussia shows half length portrait of Frederick the Great wearing armour and fur trimmed cloak, he points to left, head facing outwards, hair in fashion of time. Beneath scroll at chest height 1757, left off-centre, and KING of PRUSSIA. Above head, left, winged figure holds laurel wreath, facing right. Left, military trophy shows arms and three flags indicating various battles; Reisburg, Prague, Collin / Welham, Rofsbach, Breslaw / Neumark, Lifsa, Breslaw. Central cartouche trumpeting figure. Bottom left anchor rebus and RH Worcester. Bottom right trumpet with pennant with protruding wand wrapped in ribbon ending in tassle. Left, Fame shows winged figure with flowing dress blowing two trumpets, facing right.
