Summary

Public: Mug, soft paste porcelain, scroll handle, transfer-printed overglaze in black rural scene and moths. Private: Mug, cylindrical, tapering from foot towards rim, scroll handle. Transfer-printed overglaze, black, exterior. Milkmaids shows one milkmiad carrying pail on head, other milkmaid being helped by man with her pail. Behind, right, cow eating hay in front of tall tree by hayrick, ladder propped up. Distant left, cow eating hay, small dog, two farm buildings among trees, birds in sky. Rural landscape. Bottom right, inscription RH monogram, R reversed, two crossed anchors, Worcester. Scene flanked by two pairs of different size and species of moths. Enamelled overglaze, black, interlaced pattern on handle.
