Summary

Public: Rectangular plate, soft paste porcelain, painted overglaze in claret, purple, pink, iron red, yellow, blue and green enamels and gilt. Private: Rectangular plate with deep rectangular well, and flat sloping sides with canted corners, each corner having two indentations on the rim. Decorated in well with group of fruit including apple, peach, plums and raspberries against foliage. Sides of well decorated with arabesquing and floral gilt border against claret overglaze ground. Rim of plate painted overglaze with different sprigs of fruit and flowers on each side, including redcurrants and blueberries, alternating with different insects within gilt and blue scrolls. Outer border of floral and arabesquing gilt against claret ground. Gilt edge.
