Summary

Public: Two lidded tureens, one stand, one heart shaped dessert bowl, soft paste porcelain, painted in underglaze cobalt blue and purple, pink, iron red, yellow and green enamels and gilt. Private: Moulded oval tureen, curving in to oval footring and swelling out beneath inverted undulating rim. Four indentations in body beneath rim, two scallop shell handles picked out in gilt. Body decorated with wide underglaze cobalt blue border beneath rim, covered with 'oeil-de-perdrix' pattern of rings of small gilt dots and border of rococo scrolls. Main body painted with eight festoons of purple flowers suspended from larger of the gilt scrolls, and single sprays of pink and red flowers and foliage. Moulded oval domed lid with undulating rim and four indentations. Scalloped gilt edging to rim, same pattern of cobalt blue border decorated in gilt and festoons of purple flowers, with foliage and pink and yellow flowers suspended between the festoons. Moulded artichoke head finial with two leaves and stem, all picked out in gilt. Semi-circular recess at one end for ladle. Second tureen has same pattern, although floral festoons and sprays on lid are less flambuoyant and finial is smaller. One tureen stand of moulded diamond shape with rounded corners and undulating rim with four indentations. Curved sides tapering to oval well. Rim edged in scalloped gilt, underglaze blue border widening at intervals, decorated in gilt pattern. Same pattern of purple festoons and sprays hanging between them. Spray of different flowers and foliage in well. Moulded heart shaped dessert bowl with curving sides, footring and wide curving rim. Decorated in slightly more exaggerated version of same pattern with large pink and yellow flowers suspended between festoons of purple flowers. Spray of flowers in centre of well.
