Summary

Public: Coffee cup and saucer, soft paste porcelain, decorated in underglaze scale blue ground, with flowers in iron red, green, pink, yellow and purple enamels and gilt. Private: Tall narrow coffee cup with curved base, narrow footring and ribbed loop handle. Sides and handle decorated in underglaze scale blue ground with two rococo mirror-shaped reserves, filled with simple floral festoons, alternating with three vase-shaped reserves, filled with single green leafy sprigs. Small reserves round upper edge of cup, above vase reserves, filled with simple sprigs in puce. Reserves outlined in gilt. Plain white footring, gilt cup rim and gilt detail on handle. , decorated with same pattern of birds and insects against scale blue ground. Deep saucer with curving sides and tapered footring. Same pattern of scale blue ground with three mirror-shaped and three vase-shaped reserves, round central circular reserve edged in outlined in gilt and filled with single leafy spray.
