Summary

Public: Tea bowl and saucer, soft paste porcelain, painted underglaze cobalt blue and gilt with simple flowers and borders. Private: Wide tea bowl of shanked or spiral fluted shape with indented horizontal band round lower body and straight footring. Underglaze blue band inside rim, edged in gilt and overpainted with diagonal leafy gilt stems and spots. Stylised blue and gilt flower head in well. Simple blue and gilt husk border outside rim, exterior sides painted with three single violets in cobalt blue with gilt outlines and leaves. Plain gilt band to footring. Deep saucer with curving sides and tapered footring, indented horizontal band round lower body. Spiral fluted upper surface decorated with same pattern of wide blue and gilt border to rim, three single blue and gilt violets scattered around central medallion in well. Medallion contained within blue and gilt husk border, simple stylised flower head at its centre.
