Summary
Ornate gateway through a building. Figures wearing cloaks and mortar board hats seen beyond gate in the middle ground. Windows to the right and street light to the left. Hedley Fitton was an artist noted for his architectural etchings including street scenes. He was born in Didsbury, Manchester, in 1858 and resident there during the 1890s when he was an editor and illustrator for the Daily Chronicle in Manchester. He later moved permanently to Surrrey where he died in 1929.
