Linear drawing. Front view of Peterborough cathedral. Tree to left edge. Figure walking across gateway to the left. No foreground detail. Hedley Fitton was an artist noted for his architectural etchings including cathedrals. He was born in Didsbury, Manchester, in 1858 and resident there during the 1890s when he was an editor and illustrator for the Daily Chronicle in Manchester. He later moved permanently to Surrrey where he died in 1929.
