Summary

A scene set in a shop. The shop-keeper, to the right, wearing spectacles stands pouring over a large book laid open on the counter; on the other side of the counter leans a second man, short and wearing a cloth cap, with his mouth open and eyebrows raised. In the background is the shop window in which are displayed various jars and bottles; at the far end of the counter is a set of scales; the counter appears as a tall table with drawers set into it.
