The Cheddar Cliffs, Somerset
William James Müller 1812 - 1845
Summary
Sun-filled English landscape, in which the eye is drawn to the gently curving horizon through a corridor of grass-topped rocky outcrops. On the grassy slope in the foreground are a few resting sheep beyond which are the distant figures of a woman and child walking downhill towards cottages, of which only the roofs and smoking chimneys are visible.
