View From the Acropolis, Athens
William James Müller 1812 - 1845
Summary
To the right of the composition are the towering ruins of the temple on the acropolis, with large sections of toppled, fluted column in the foreground. To the left, in the middleground, surmounting a dark, rocky outcrop are the remains of a small construction. In the background is a distant range of mountains beyond a wide stretch of water.
