Summary
Full-length evening dress in dark brown cotton broderie anglais; Directoire style with raised waist, low square neck and short puff sleeves; very full skirt with gathered flounce at hem; centre back zip to below waist; bodice lined fawn acetate; woven label "warning keep away from fire" (Biba label is missing). Worn by donor for a summer ball at college in 1970. Bought from Biba, Kensington High Street, London.
