Cattle Crossing a Stream

Thomas Sidney Cooper 1803 - 1902

Summary

A rural scene of a man guiding a small group of cattle across a stream. The man can be seen at the rear of the heard to the left, mounted on horseback. Just over the hedge in the middle right of the canvas, an expanse of open flat fields is visible, with a ridge of hills beyond and a group of buildings. In the foreground to the left, behind the man, a tree is set against dark clouds as they obscure the sky.
