O'er the Braes of Balquhidder (Perthshire)
Thomas Sidney Cooper 1803 - 1902
Summary
A heard of cattle and sheep being driven through stark Scottish highlands. In the background, mountains rise out of the mist, hiding the end of the group and two cattleman from view. The colours of the canvas are split by the heard. The lower left is dominated by the greys of the rocks, past the cattle and to the lower right, pale oranges and reds colour the foliage, and the entire top half of the canvas changes through the white mist to the pale blues of the mountain and sky.
