The Mill, Bridgnorth

Philip Wilson Steer 1860 - 1942

Summary

View of a rural watermill obscured by tall trees, the mill wheel is visible to the left of the trees. A pathway leads up to the mill on the far right, against which there is a bright blue clouded sky. The colours are naturalistic and bright in tone, reflecting the fine weather. Some of the paintwork, especially to the bottom right, is somewhat impressionistic, as is evidenced by the mottled, coloured patches reflected in the water. Bridgnorth is a town in Shropshire on the River Severn.
