Summary
Slate-blue sheer lurex sleeveless evening dress with beaded trim. Swathed bands to bust and lowered waist; similar bands as shoulder straps; boned bodice entirely decorated with swirling bands of bugle beads and diamante in a stylised floral design; 2 attached petticoats; woven label, inner seam 'Samuels, Manchester'. Belonged to donor's mother, Jane Pogrel (20.5.1909 to 2.1998). She married Joseph Samuels (no relation to the shop) who was a butcher in 1931.
