A half-length portrait of Humphrey Chetham (1580-1653), plate one of a set of engraved portraits of men associated with the Collegiate Church, Manchester. Chetham was a cloth merchant of Lancashire and founder of Chetham's Hospital / School. He wears a short pointed beard and a narrow moustache. He holds his gloves in one hand, wears robes and a ruff, and an embroidered cap on his head.
