'classical style' full length evening dress in mid brown silk chiffon with fully gathered and asymmetrical skirt and swathed sleeveless boned bodice; very full net underskirt; woven labels 'Christian Dior London, B1331' and 'Kendal Milne, Manchester' and small woven label 'size 18'. worn by Agnes Miles 1911-1989, in the later 1950s for evening events Mrs Miles was a senior sales assistant at Kendal Milne & Co from 1951-8 and then at Samuels, King St, Manchester from 1958 until the closure of the shop in 1968.
