Turton Tower
Summary
In the centre of the image is a stone built house - this is Turton Tower, which was, as the printed lettering tells us, 'Once the Residence of Humphrey Cheetham Esq.' On the left, the building is square in shape, with a crenellated top. Three tall chimneys can be seen above this, and a large arched entrance stands before it.The building continues to the right in an uneven, two-storey, gabled fashion. A figure carrying a bag approaches the entrance.
