Lady Georgiana Fane
Summary
The youngest daughter of John Fane, 10th Earl of Westmorland (who held many government positions including Lord Privy Seal for thirty years), by his second wife, heiress Jane Saunders, whom he married in 1800, daughter of R.H. Saunders M.D. Georgina died 4th December 1874. The peer's daughter is depicted here as a peasant child beside a stream, her arm resting on a laundry tub and accompanied by a kid goat. The painting by Sir Thomas Lawrence is in the Tate Collection, bequeathed by Lady Georgina Fane in 1875.
