Fives Court
Summary
The interior of the Fives Court, with James Randall and Ned Turner sparring. A boxing scene. Fives Court was in Little St. Martin's Street, London. Fives was a game, a sort of hand-tennis, played like Real Tennis on an indoor court with high walls with slopes and ledges. The building was demolished in 1826 to make way for Trafalger Square. Ned Turner, known as 'The Out-and-Outer' had killed a man in the ring and served time for manslaughter. James Randall was unbeaten. They fought in 1818. Randall won to become Lightweight champion.
