Summary

To the left of the watercolour, smoke is bellowing out from what is perhaps the Copper Works. The foreground is divided into two winding paths – one of land and the other of water, both leading to a small bridge in the distance in the middle of the painting. There are two small figures in the distance next to the bridge. A bird fly’s close to the surface of the water and the reflections of Neath Abbey can be seen as well. To the right hand side, Neath Abbey is depicted, with some cows grazing in front of it at the water’s edge. The pastel tones used in this watercolour suggest that we are viewing a sunset.
