Summary

2 piece tailored suit in pale plum coloured ribbed rayon (faille): SB waisted jacket with peplum incorporating side pockets and a large made up bow at the back, rounded turn down collar and revers, and fastening with 3 self fabric covered buttons; long sleeves with 3 darts at inner elbow; unlined with woven side seam label: Kendal Milne & Co, Manchester, and printed Utility label other side seam. Matching calf length skirt in 2 panels with integral trained flying box-pleat panel and side placket. This model is extremely reminiscent of Balenciaga's suits of 1948 - with flying back panels. (See 2008.8). White broderie anglais short-sleeved blouse worn with the suit, labelled 'Etam Model, 36-38" also donated.
