Summary

recto: At the centre of the drawing, Christ is shown carrying the Cross. Simon of Cyrene is behind Christ, to the right, supporting the Cross. There is a Roman soldier to the left. All the figures are facing from right to left and there are flowers and grass beneath their feet. There are trees to the right edge. The drawing has been squared for transfer. verso: The recto drawing has been traced over with pencil and colour has been added in watercolour.
