Summary
Ensemble of separates in Chinese silk brocade comprising scarlet silk outfit of skirt, jacket and waistcoat; cream silk trousers; 2 waistcoats in pale green and cream. All in floral brocaded silks and labelled, 'Bill Gibb, London'. From Gibb's orientalist collections circa 1977. Bill Gibb started his label in 1971 and opened his first retail store in 1975. He had short-lived but phenominal success until 1979.
