Summary

Machine jacquard knitted woollen cardigan in a stylised art nouveau linear design in pinks brown and black on a pale blue ground; narrow infill panels at cb and sides with a stylised tree motif in black; 3 pairs of long narrow ties centre front to fasten; similar ties at each side at the hip; large cream on black woven label cb neck: Bill Gibb, London'. Worn to Helena Suggitt (nee Tomkinson), 1955-2015 for parties and evenings out. She was assistant manageress at Campus Clothes in Victoria St, Nottingham. Campus Clothes was founded in the late 1960s as a 'designer shop' or boutique with branches in Nottingham, Oxford, Edinburgh and Glasgow. It stocked Gina Fratini, Jean Muir, Ossie Clark, YSL, Bill Gibb and others.
