Goat Tethered to a Post about 1920 John Nasg 1893-1977 Wood engraving Nash often chose to depict ordinary subjects such as this domestic goat. He has exploited the full potential of the wood block by turning it to accomodate his composition. Different marks in the wood convey a range of textures: the hair of the goat is executed in long, flowing lines, while the grass is formed of small vertical cuts.
