Portrait of Lady Georgiana De Tabley shown full-length as an allegory of Hope, stepping forward to the left holding up an olive branch in her right hand, looking towards the viewer, in clouds with two cherubs reaching up to her on the left, another holding her left hand. Georgiana Maria Leicester (nee Cottin), Lady de Tabley (1794-1859), Born in Hampton Court Palace, Middlesex, to Lt-Col Josiah Cottin and Lavinia Chambers; granddaughter of Sir William Chambers. She married John Fleming Leicester, 1st Baron de Tabley (near Knutsford, Cheshire) in 1810 who commissioned the original oil painting of his wife by Lawrence.
