Summary
A young girl seated on the grass in a wooded landscape with tree framing top left and large rock or drapery top right. She wears a simple off-the shoulder-dress and pumps on her feet.Her hair is parted on the centre with ringlets to both sides of her head. A spaniel-like dog is on her lap. A portrait of Miss Julia Beatrice Peel (1821-1893) as a child. She was the eldest daughter of the Prime Minister, Sir Robert Peel (1788-1850). She married first, July 1841, George, 6th Earl of Jersey, who died October 1859. Her second marriage in September 1865 was to Charles Brandling of Middleton Hall, Yorkshire. She died 14 August 1893. Published 1 October 1833.
