Lo Peor Es Pedir (The worst is to beg)
Francisco Goya Y Lucientes 1746 - 1828
Summary
A group of drawn figures face forward in the centre of the image. A cross-legged man, very thin and with sunken eye sockets, can be seen in the centre of this group. He is wearing a hat and has his arms bent at elbow and his hands clasped. On the left, a solitary female figure seems to be going right the group. Her back is turned and her head bowed allowing to see a bonnet and the V shape back of her fine dress. On the right, a male figure lies straight on the ground. There are two other figures, one of them a child, on the right-hand side of the group, and one on the left-hand side. On the left, a schematic male figure with a moustache can be seen in the distance.
