Portrait of a man seated at a work table. The subject is facing to the left and is seen in profile. Using both hands he is applying a tool to a flat surface lying on the desk. There is a bottle on the desk to the upper left. There is no background detail. From the series English Portraits 1897-1898 issued in twelve parts, each part containing two lithographs. Artist and etcher Francis Seymour Haden (1818-1910) is from Part II. The edition was 750 but only a small number appeared due to many being destroyed in a fire at the binders.
