Summary

Public: Vase, hard paste porcelain, moulded foliage and figures in enamel colours and gilt decoration. Private: Vase representing earth and air, hard paste porcelain. Elaborately moulded and pierced rococo form with applied flowers and foliage. At the base a kneeling putto digs into the soil from which grows a strawberry plant; on a rocky ledge at the top stands a birdcage conaining a canary. Circular base, the underside unglazed. Painted in leaf green, sea-green, blue, brown, mauve, puce and yellow enamel colours and gilt.
