Summary

Public: Two handled cup and saucer, hard paste porcelain, painted in gilt with chinoiserie scenes on a white ground. Private: Hard paste porcelain, tall, narrow cup with everted rim, curves in to high footring and has two double-scroll handles in the form of branches. Shallow, circular saucer with flat base and everted rim. Painted in gilt and etched with chinoiserie scenes on diaper and scrollwork brackets. Simpler scrollwork border around inner rims of cup and saucer, the decoration rubbed. Decorated in Augsburg, c.1730.
