Deansgate
Francis Frith 07/10/1822 - 25/02/1898
Summary
View along Deansgate, one of the principal streets of Manchester, which is lined by elegant trade buildings. Horses, carts and carriages can be seen along the road, and people are walking along the pavements. There are tramlines down the middle of the street. Awnings are drawn over some shop fronts on the left. One shop selling hats has strung its wares right down from the second floor windows. Emporia with readable names above their premises include 'Edwards', 'A. Tyler' and 'John Holme'.
