Piccadilly, from Royal Hotel
Francis Frith 07/10/1822 - 25/02/1898
Summary
A view of Piccadilly, Manchester, on a busy day. The street to the left is full of horse-drawn traffic, there are pedestrians and street vendors in the centre, and the stone benches around the Infirmary's perimeter wall are crammed with seated people to the right. The public square has two tall statues: in the distance is the monument to the Duke of Wellington, and nearer to us is Robert Peel.
