Grosvenor Hotel

Francis Frith 07/10/1822 - 25/02/1898

Summary

A view of the Grosvenor Hotel on the corner of Deansgate and Victoria Bridge Street, Manchester. The ground floor of the hotel is occupied by small businesses (one is 'C. Jennings, Practical Maker'). The hotel is in the style of a Manchester commercial warehouse building, but with a striking tiled round corner tower. The edge of the Victoria Hotel, opposite, is just visible on the left of the image, as is the pediment of the Oliver Cromwell statue, at the base of which a boy is seated.
