Summary

A view of the Albert Square facade of Manchester Town Hall, which was designed by Alfred Waterhouse and opened in 1877. This view is from the John Dalton Street corner of the square. The Albert Memorial is on the right side of the image, and some early morning horse drawn cabs await passengers here. The clock in the tower shows that it is quarter to six.
