Summary
Portrait of Lady Mary Kent, nee Mary Wordsworth (1751-1817), seated in a wooded landscape. She wears an elaborate dress with low neckline and richly decorated belt which she holds with her left hand. She has a high hairstyle decorated with pearls. She married Sir Charles Kent, 1st Baronet, in c.1776. He was MP for Thetford 1784-1790. She co-inherited with her sister Ann Verelyst mortgagees over enslaved people on estates in Grenada from her father, Josias Wordsworth.
