Summary

Public: Two ovoid lidded tea caddies, stoneware, solid blue jasper with applied white relief decoration depicting different sentimental scenes of women and children. Private: Bulbous ovoid tea caddy, on wide flat foot, with straight narrow neck, all in solid pale blue jasper. Plain blue foot with inlaid white round the edges. Decorated round the sides in white relief with different scenes of women and children including Sportive Love and Poor Maria (on one canister) and Domestic Employment (on the other), with filling in details of trees, flowers and insects. Lower body of each jar decorated with shallow engine-turned ribbing, upper body round shoulder with acanthus border. Straight short neck with flattened beaded band, shallow domed cover with engine-turned ribbing and pill finial. One jar has a slightly wider neck and lid.
