Summary

Public: Oval medallion, stoneware, with white relief portrait of Mrs Matilda Fielding against a purple enamelled ground, in gilt metal locket. Private: Oval medallion with relief-moulded right side profile, head and neck portrait of Mrs Matilda Fielding. Purple enamel painted surround to portrait, black, slightly translucent enamel on reverse. Large oval locket, gilt metal with glass front and back. Metal surround engraved with rococo scrolls, large ornate loop at the top, partially engraved with scrolls. Inside locket, two pieces of paper backing, one painted gold as background to medallion, the other inscribed with medallion's history.
