Summary
Public: Miniature jug and basin (not a matching pair), soft paste porcelain, decorated with Chinoiserie landscapes printed and painted in underglaze cobalt blue. Private: Pear shaped jug with sparrow beak lip and makeshift metal handle, replacing lost original. Painted in underglaze cobalt blue, grey/blue in tone, with Chinoiserie landscape and scalloped border round rim. Deep bowl, with straight sloping sides and wide everted rim. Transfer-printed in underglaze cobalt blue round sides with Chinoiserie 'fence' pattern of a fenced garden of flowers by a river. Painted cell border inside rim, simple printed flower in well. pattern : fence (basin only)
